New Product Launch | FM-11-B / FM-14-B / FM-17-B General-Purpose Humanoid Joint Modules

«

General-Purpose Humanoid Joint Modules-1We are pleased to announce the launch of our new FM-11-B / FM-14-B / FM-17-B General-Purpose Humanoid Joint Modules (Non-Force-Control Version), designed to support research and education, robotic arm development, and embodied AI and humanoid robotics R&D.

Traditional joint procurement and robot integration often involve high costs, inconsistent product stability across certain models, and limited hollow-shaft space for internal cable routing. Meanwhile, existing integrated harmonic drive joint solutions may not fully meet requirements for model compatibility, cost efficiency, technical documentation, after-sales support, and supply stability. These challenges can increase development time and slow down project progress.

To address these needs, our new joint modules integrate core joint technologies developed through our experience in collaborative and humanoid robotics. Featuring a compact, lightweight, modular design, the series provides a standardized solution for a wide range of robotic applications.

With multiple models available to meet different torque requirements, EtherCAT communication as standard, hollow-shaft cable routing, and cost-effective manufacturing, the FM-B series enables faster model selection and easier system integration. Customers can build custom robotic platforms more efficiently using modular components, helping reduce development time and material costs while improving overall system quality.

1. Key Product Highlights

Compact and Lightweight Design

The FM-11-B weighs approximately 370–420 g, with overall dimensions of approximately 52 × 60–68.5 mm. Its compact form factor allows easy integration into space-constrained designs and helps reduce overall robot weight.

Stable and Robust Mechanical Structure

Bearings are positioned at both ends of the reducer to support smooth transmission and low operating noise. The FM-17-B features additional structural support to improve joint stiffness and impact resistance, making it suitable for higher-load applications within its rated operating conditions.

Large Hollow Shaft for Cable Routing

The FM-14-B and FM-17-B feature a 12 mm hollow bore, providing convenient internal routing for cables, tubing, and other components. This helps simplify external wiring and improves integration flexibility.

Flexible Communication and Power Supply

All models come standard with EtherCAT communication, support 48 V power input, and support a brake, facilitating integration with industrial control systems and humanoid or embodied robotics development platforms.

Designed for Diverse Development Scenarios

The modular architecture allows customers to select and combine different joint models according to their requirements for robot configuration, appearance, and degrees of freedom. Typical applications include research and education, robotic arm development, humanoid robotics, and embodied AI R&D.

Cost-Effective with Efficient Delivery

The series balances performance, integration convenience, and manufacturing cost, supporting individual research purchases, small-batch prototyping, and volume production requirements.

3. Selection and Integration Guidelines

Product Scope: These modules are component-level products intended for customers developing their own robotic systems. Customers can select and combine joint models to meet their requirements for mechanical configuration, appearance, and degrees of freedom.

System-Level Performance: Joint-level specifications are provided for product selection. We do not guarantee the payload capacity, overall reliability, or overall performance of a customer-integrated robot. Customers are responsible for system-level design, validation, and ensuring that each joint operates within its rated conditions.

Protection Rating: The modules have not undergone standard ingress protection (IP) testing and are intended for use as internal components. They should not be assumed to provide any specific dust or water resistance. Appropriate protection design and testing should be conducted after integration into the complete robot.

Storage and Environmental Conditions: Store and operate the modules in a dry environment whenever possible. Appropriate sealing and protective measures should be implemented to reduce the risk of corrosion, particularly in humid environments.

4. Warranty Policy and Troubleshooting

Warranty: The warranty period is one year. Corrosion or cosmetic damage resulting from improper storage, as well as failures caused by improper handling or unsuitable operating conditions, are excluded from warranty coverage. Examples include physical impact, collision damage, and burnout caused by overload.

Communication Issues: If a joint cannot communicate properly, check the communication connections and drive firmware version. Modules are generally shipped with standard firmware. Customized applications may require a corresponding firmware update.

Corrosion Prevention: As the modules have not undergone standard IP testing, prolonged exposure to external environmental conditions may lead to corrosion. Keep the modules dry during storage and implement appropriate sealing and protection measures when integrating them into a complete robotic system.
